Is GTA 6 Out Yet? Release Date, Unlock Time and Status

Not yet. GTA VI comes out on Nov 19 2026 (as of Nov 1 2026). That is a Thursday, 18 days from today, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar set the date on Nov 6 2025, and it has not moved since.

What is counted, and how

Every status line comes from a Rockstar page, a Take-Two filing or a PlayStation or Xbox store listing. We re-read the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Rockstar Store and rockstargames.com/VI on Oct 12 2026. Rockstar's support article did not load for us that day, so its lines come from our fact base, which read it on Oct 11. Day counts are our own arithmetic: start date excluded, end date included.

Left out: leaked footage, rumored delays and anything from a forum post. If it is not official, it is not on the board.

The countdown

This is the table we built for this page: every pre-launch date that changes what you can do, and how many days away it is today (Nov 1 2026). The counts update every day.

For scale: as of today it has been 1,063 days since Trailer 1 (Dec 4 2023), 360 days since the last delay (Nov 6 2025) and 129 days since pre-orders opened (Jun 25 2026).

When does it unlock?

Short version, because our release time page has the full tables:

• Rockstar has not announced an unlock hour. It has given a date only.
• The US PlayStation Store lists 12:00 AM EST on Nov 19. We re-read it on Oct 12 2026 and it still shows 05:00 AM UTC, the same moment.
• The Xbox Store shows no time. Its page data holds the same 05:00 UTC value, but buyers never see it.
• Regional PlayStation stores list midnight in their own zone. Our release time page checked 14 of them. That is a pattern in store data, not an announcement.

So if you are in the US and on PlayStation, the store's own answer is midnight Eastern, which is 9:00 PM on Nov 18 in Los Angeles. Everyone else should check their own region's store page, not a converted US time.

What you can do right now

The game is not out, but four things are live today.

1. Pick an edition. Standard is $79.99 and Ultimate is $99.99 in the US, on both the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store (checked Oct 12 2026). The Xbox Store sells a $20.00 Ultimate Edition Upgrade. The PlayStation Store lists the same Upgrade but showed its price as "Unavailable" on Oct 12. 2. Decide digital or physical. The physical copy is a download code in a box, with no disc, and physical pre-orders do not get the GTA+ month. Details on pre-load and the physical copy.
3. Lock in the bonuses. The Vintage Vice City Pack goes to purchases before Nov 20. See pre-order bonuses for who gets what.
4. Plan Nov 12. Pre-load opens at local midnight a full week before launch. The real file size shows up then, because no official figure exists yet (file size). Our launch day checklist walks through each day from Nov 12 to Nov 20.

We update this page on launch day

This page will be updated on Thursday, Nov 19 2026, launch day. The first line will change from "Not yet" to the real answer, with the time we saw the game unlock and on which store. If anything official moves before then, such as a new date, a published unlock hour or a Trailer 3, we change this page the same day and update the date at the top. Spotted something we missed? Trivia

• Pre-load day and launch day are both Thursdays, one week apart (Nov 12 and Nov 19).
• The Xbox and Rockstar Store pages both carry hidden release values in their page data. Neither shows a launch time to buyers.
• Rockstar's GTA VI site still lists three videos: Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and An Extended Look, which premiered Aug 27 2026.
