GTA VI: What Is Confirmed and What Is Still Rumor

Every major GTA VI claim sorted into confirmed (with the Rockstar, Take-Two or store source) or rumor (with its origin and what would confirm it).

Most GTA VI pages blend the two. A preview impression gets written up as a feature, a parody file size gets repeated as a leak, a hardware maker's guess becomes a "PC date". This page does the opposite. Every claim sits in one of two tables. If it is in the first table, you can open the source yourself. If it is in the second, we tell you where it came from and what would have to happen for it to move up.

What is counted, and how

Our fact base sorts every source into tiers. We use the same tiers here so you can judge each line yourself.

Three rules decide the borderline cases:

A preview is not a confirmation. Hands-off previews in late Aug 2026 showed reporters about 30 minutes of play. What a reporter saw is an impression unless Rockstar is quoted.
A CEO's general comment is not a product announcement. Zelnick saying Rockstar "historically" goes console first is not a PC date, either way.
Leaked material never confirms anything here. We do not host, link or describe leaked footage, and it cannot move a claim into the first table.

Detail for many of these rows lives on their own pages: the characters on Lucia and Jason, the map on Leonida, the videos on GTA VI trailers, prices and bonuses on editions and platforms, and dates on the delay timeline.

Reported, not confirmed by us. Two items sit between the tables. PEGI 18 and Australia's R 18+ are now visible on official pages: PEGI 18 on the UK PlayStation Store listing, and R 18+ in the Australian Classification database, filed as a demonstration (see age ratings). The detailed PEGI summary that appeared on Oct 2 2026 was deleted the same day, so its descriptors stay secondhand. An Xbox executive reportedly said on Oct 7 2026 that the game will not stream to PC through Xbox Cloud Gaming at launch. We have not seen the post itself, so we do not name the executive.

The numbers follow our fact base, so there is no R6 here. That entry covers leaked material, which we do not list, describe or link.

Patterns in the rumor table

Three lessons stand out from sorting 47 claims.

Most rumors have a fixed expiry date. R4 (file size) ends on Nov 12, when pre-load shows the real number. R5, R11, R17 and R18 end on Nov 19, when people can play. R14 ends when Take-Two reports the quarter. Only R1 (PC) and R3 (online) have no built-in end, which is why they generate the most junk pages.

Headlines overstate. R5 is the clearest case. One outlet ran a "Rockstar confirms" headline on a quote that said a feature had not been implemented yet. That is not a confirmation of anything.

Official absence is itself a fact. "No PC version announced" and "no file size published" are confirmed statements. They belong in the first table, and they are more useful than a guessed number.

Trivia

The 676.7 GB file size that circulated widely came from a parody account (FACTS.md R4).
Take-Two's lineup tables list PC for other upcoming games but only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for GTA VI (Take-Two, Aug 7 2026).
The Netflix premiere of An Extended Look counted 31.1 million views in its first four days, by Netflix's watch-time measure (reported by VGC, FACTS.md F32). We list it here rather than in the table because the number is Netflix's, relayed by press.
