Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, Explained

GTA VI: The Album, 34 original tracks with Atlantic Records, out Nov 19 2026: the eight singles so far, formats, prices, and past GTA albums.

Last checked: Oct 11 2026.

Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is a 34-track record of original songs, made with Atlantic Records, that comes out on Nov 19 2026, the same day as the game. Rockstar announced it on Sep 17 2026 with six singles released that day, and its music page listed eight singles by Oct 11. It is sold on streaming services, CD and vinyl.

This page answers three questions: what Rockstar has actually said about the album, what you can buy and at what price, and how it compares with the soundtrack releases for earlier GTA games. The short version of the comparison: GTA VI's album has almost twice as many new songs as GTA V's volume of new music, and it is the first GTA soundtrack we found that arrives on launch day on streaming, CD and vinyl at once.

For the in-game radio stations, which are a separate thing, see GTA VI radio stations, and for radio across the series, GTA radio stations.

What is counted, and how

Everything about the GTA VI album comes from two Rockstar Newswire posts (Sep 17 and Oct 8 2026), the music page on Rockstar's GTA VI site, and the official album store at gtavi-thealbum.com, which Rockstar's posts link to. We read the store's product pages on Oct 11 2026, including whether each item was in stock.

For older games we used Rockstar's own Newswire posts, read through Wayback Machine snapshots, and Take-Two's annual report. We left out chart positions and track counts that come only from wikis or fan pages.

Days between dates are our arithmetic. Sep 17 to Nov 19 2026 is 63 days: 13 days left in September, 31 in October and 19 in November.

That is eight of 34 tracks, or about 24 percent (8 divided by 34 is 0.235). The Oct 8 Newswire post promised "more singles" to come. The two newer songs appear on Rockstar's music page, but we found no Newswire post that dates them, so we give no release date for them. The album store's product pages still list only the first six. The songs cover rap, pop, electronic, country, Latin and rock, which fits Rockstar's phrase "a genre-defying roster."

One caution. Some outlets have linked artists on this list to the game's radio hosts. Rockstar has not. The album and the radio hosts are separate announcements, and we keep them separate.

The Sep 17 Newswire post names three items as exclusive to the album store: "a limited-edition liquid-filled vinyl, a splatter-edition vinyl, and a CD jewel case." It also says other vinyl colorways, each with its own art, are sold at Blood Records, Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, Urban Outfitters and independent shops. We did not check retailer prices.

What the table shows:

  • The album is now the lead product, not an afterthought. GTA V's digital set came a week after the game, and its physical box sets more than a year later, in a run of under 5,000. GTA VI's album was announced 63 days early, with singles, and every format arrives on launch day.
  • More new songs than before. GTA V's volume of new music had 18 tracks. GTA VI's album has 34 original tracks. GTA V's other two volumes were the score and licensed radio songs, so the totals are not like for like.
  • Vice City is the closest match on timing. Its seven-CD set was released alongside the North American launch in 2002. That set was themed on the game's radio stations, per our radio page. GTA VI's album is billed as original music, not a radio compilation.

Trivia

  • The album was announced on Sep 17 2026, 13 years to the day after GTA V launched on Sep 17 2013.
  • Both the announcement day and the release day fall on a Thursday.
  • The album store's sign-up form is for updates "about Atlantic Records," the label, not Rockstar.
  • GTA VI also adds on-demand podcasts to its radio, a series first, per Rockstar's Oct 8 post. See GTA VI: what Rockstar has said.
