GTA VI Price: What Each Store Charges

US and regional GTA VI prices at the Xbox, PlayStation and Rockstar stores, checked Oct 11 2026, against past Rockstar launches, and Black Friday.

Prices checked Oct 11 2026 on each store's own page. Prices change. If you are reading this later, check the store before you buy.

The US price of Grand Theft Auto VI is the same at every first-party store we checked: $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, with a $20.00 Ultimate Edition Upgrade on the Xbox Store. The PlayStation Store lists the same Upgrade but showed it as "Unavailable" when we checked, with no price. No store shows a discount. This page goes one step past the US numbers. It lists what PlayStation charges in five other regions, shows how GTA VI's prices line up with Rockstar's last two big launches, and answers the question people will ask in late November: is it worth waiting for a Black Friday deal?

Our editions page explains what each edition contains. This page is only about price.

What is counted, and how

We loaded the US Xbox Store, the US PlayStation Store and the Rockstar Store on Oct 11 2026 and read the prices in the pages themselves, including the PlayStation Store's own "base price" and "discounted price" fields. On every edition the two were equal, and the discount text was empty. We then loaded the same PlayStation Store listing for the UK, Germany, Canada, Australia and Japan.

What we left out, and why:

  • Retailers. Best Buy's search page did not load any GTA VI results for us, and GameStop returned an access error. We did not try to get around either. We print no retailer price we did not see.
  • Xbox prices outside the US. We checked only the US Xbox Store.
  • Currency conversions. Exchange rates move daily. We give each price in its own currency.
  • Taxes. US prices are before sales tax. European, UK, Australian and Japanese store prices normally include tax, but we did not confirm that on these pages.

Two points follow from Rockstar's support page. First, there is no physical Ultimate Edition. A physical buyer who wants Ultimate pays $79.99 for the box, redeems the code, then buys the $20.00 Upgrade from the PlayStation or Microsoft store. On Xbox prices that comes to $99.99, the same as the digital Ultimate. The same sum cannot be checked on PlayStation today, because its Upgrade listing shows no price. We do not know why, and the store does not say. Second, the Upgrade can be bought "at any time," so nobody has to decide on day one.

All checked Oct 11 2026 on the PlayStation Store listing for each region. The gap column is our subtraction. In all six regions the Upgrade add-on was listed but shown as unavailable, so this table has no Upgrade column.

What the table shows: in the US, UK and Germany the Ultimate Edition costs exactly 20 units of local currency more. In Canada and Australia the gap is 30. Rockstar has not published a non-US price list, so this table is a store reading, not an official price sheet, and it covers PlayStation only.

Remember the region rules before buying in another country's store. Rockstar Support says PlayStation codes work only on accounts registered in the region of purchase. Xbox codes are not region-locked. Japanese product codes expire 170 days after Nov 19 2026.

GTA VI against Rockstar's last two launches

GTA VI, 2026Standard Edition $79.99n/aUltimate Edition $99.99The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection $399.99Xbox Store; Rockstar Store, Oct 11 2026

The pattern is plain. GTA VI's base price, $79.99, is what Rockstar charged for the step-up Special Editions of GTA V in 2013 and RDR2 in 2018. Its Ultimate Edition, $99.99, matches RDR2's Ultimate Edition eight years earlier. So the top digital price has not moved since 2018. What has gone is the middle tier: GTA VI has two editions, not three. And as with RDR2's Collector's Box, Rockstar's big physical collection for VI does not include the game. The Rockstar Store says it is sold separately.

Black Friday: is a deal likely?

We cannot tell you. No store lists a discount, and FACTS.md lists "any launch discount" as unconfirmed. What we can do is lay out the dates, because they decide what waiting costs.

Black Friday falls eight days after the pre-order bonuses end (Nov 19 to Nov 27). Anyone who waits for a possible deal gives up the Vintage Vice City Pack, which Rockstar describes as the '55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. A digital buyer would also give up the month of GTA+. The Rockstar Store adds that the pack is offered "while supplies last."

Two smaller points on the GTA+ month, from the store pages:

  • The PlayStation terms say the membership auto-renews at the regular monthly price until cancelled.
  • The redemption deadline differs by platform. PlayStation sets a fixed date, Mar 31 2027. Xbox counts 180 days from the day you placed the pre-order. On that wording, a pre-order placed later has a later deadline.

Physical pre-orders do not include GTA+ at all, per Rockstar Support.

What is not confirmed

  • Any launch, Black Friday or holiday discount on GTA VI.
  • Game Pass or PlayStation Plus inclusion. Neither listing shows subscription pricing.
  • Xbox prices outside the US, and any official non-US price list from Rockstar.
  • A third edition, a physical Ultimate Edition, or a disc.
  • PC pricing. No PC version is announced. See the PC release tracker.

Trivia

  • On the PlayStation Store, the Ultimate Edition Upgrade already has its own listing, marked "Pre-order", but the price field reads "Unavailable" in every region we checked.
  • The Xbox Store describes the bonus cut-off as "prior to 19 November 2026 23:59:59." The Rockstar Store puts the same deadline as "before November 20."
  • For a longer view of the price of the series, the GTA V page covers its 2013 launch, and GTA VI: what Rockstar has said sets VI against V line by line.
