About GTA VI Forum
A plain place to read GTA news and argue about it.
GTA VI Forum is published by Parlae Media, which also publishes Parlae (parlae.io), free fantasy football tools.
What the site is
GTA VI Forum has three parts:
- The news desk. Short news briefs on Grand Theft Auto VI and the rest of the series: what happened, why it matters and what is still unknown. Each brief links its source and has a discussion thread under it.
- The archive. Reference articles on the series, from the first game in 1997 to GTA VI: release history, settings, characters and how the games changed. Each one is dated and cites its sources.
- The forum. Boards for GTA VI, the older games, GTA Online and general gaming, where registered members post and reply.
How the news desk works
Briefs are written and signed by the GTA VI Forum Desk. We work from what a source actually says, and we check every brief against its source before it goes up. We do not print a number or a date that the source does not give.
Every brief carries one of three labels, so you can see how solid it is at a glance:
- CONFIRMED Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive said it, on the record.
- REPORT A named news outlet reported it. We link the report and say who made it.
- RUMOR Anything else. We label it as a rumor in the headline and the text, we never present it as fact, and it never goes in the red headline at the top of the front page.
Drafts may be prepared with the help of software. Each one is checked against its source before it is published. If a leak of game material is widely reported by major outlets, we may report that it happened. We do not link, embed or describe leaked material.
If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the brief. Tell us at support@parlae.io or through the contact form.
How moderation works
A moderator reads a new member's first three posts before they appear on the site. Until a moderator approves it, a held post is visible only to the member who wrote it and to staff. An automatic filter also checks every post for things we never allow, such as piracy and leak links, and holds anything it flags for a moderator, however long the member has posted here.
Members can report any post. A post with three open reports is hidden automatically until a moderator reviews it. New members can only link to YouTube and Rockstar Games until they have ten approved posts, and every link a member posts is marked nofollow.
The full rules, including exactly what we remove, are in the community guidelines. The legal terms for members are in the terms of use.
How the site is paid for
The site is free to read and free to join. It is paid for by ads served by Google AdSense. Ads never decide what we cover or how we label it. What the ads collect, and how to turn off personalised ads, is in the privacy policy.
Affiliate links
When an archive page about buying the game, its editions, its merchandise or a console carries buy links, they may go to a store through an affiliate program. If you buy through one of those links, we may earn a commission.
- We add a link only where buying is the point of the page: prices, editions, physical copies, consoles and merchandise.
- We never put affiliate links in news briefs, in the facts we report, or in the forum.
- Prices, facts and our reading of them are written the same way with or without a link. A link never decides what we recommend.
- Every affiliate link is marked as sponsored in the page code, and a page that has one says so in a line at the top.
