Is There a GTA 6 PS5 or Xbox Bundle? What Is Announced

No. As of Nov 1 2026, Sony, Microsoft and Rockstar have not announced any console bundle that includes Grand Theft Auto VI, on PS5 or on Xbox Series X|S. What Sony has announced is two GTA VI DualSense controllers and, in Japan only, a new black PS5 that goes on sale the same day as the game. Neither one has the game in the box.

The longer answer matters, because a lot of what turns up for "GTA 6 bundle" is retailer packs, guesses, or listings from two console generations ago. Here is what each company has put in writing, and what Rockstar's last big launch says about timing.

What is counted, and how

We counted something as "announced" only if Sony, Microsoft or Rockstar published it on a page we opened ourselves: the PlayStation Blog (US, Southeast Asia and Japan editions), Xbox Wire, Rockstar's GTA VI site and its Newswire, and PlayStation's GTA VI game page. Store packs put together by a retailer are listed separately and labeled. Leaks and "insider" bundle claims are left out entirely.

Day counts are simple subtraction between published dates. For example, Sony showed the controllers on Sep 3 2026 for a Nov 19 launch: 27 days left in September, plus 31 in October, plus 19 in November, makes 77 days.

What Sony has announced

Sony is Rockstar's marketing partner for this one, and it shows. The PlayStation Blog's June 24 2026 post, written by SIE marketing chief Mary Yee, says GTA VI will "play best on PS5" thanks to "the close partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Rockstar Games." The closest it gets to hardware is a nudge: new players can "pick up a PS5 or PS5 Pro" at direct.playstation.com or local retailers. A console sold on its own, in other words, not a bundle.

The first real GTA VI hardware came on Sep 3 2026, during a State of Play. Sony's Isabelle Tomatis revealed two controllers:

• DualSense Wireless Controller - Grand Theft Auto VI White Limited Edition. Sony calls it Vice City "at daybreak." Limited quantities, sold globally through direct.playstation.com and participating retailers.
• DualSense Wireless Controller - Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition. Vice City's nightlife. Limited quantities, sold only through direct.playstation.com where that store operates, and through select retailers elsewhere.

Both have a color-shifting finish, palm trees molded into the shell and GTA VI branding. Both launch "starting on November 19" at $84.99, 12,480 yen, 84.99 euros or 74.99 pounds. Pre-orders opened Sep 10 at 10am local time (7am PT in the US). The Southeast Asia post lists its own prices, from SGD 115 to PHP 5,411, through participating retailers there.

These are controllers. They do not include the game, and Sony does not describe them as part of any bundle.

Is the Midnight Black PS5 a GTA VI bundle?

No, not unless Sony says otherwise, and so far it has not. On Oct 13 2026, Sony's Japanese PlayStation Blog announced the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Midnight Black, Japanese language only. It goes on sale in Japan on Thursday Nov 19 at 55,000 yen including tax, model CFI-2200B02S. A matching Disc Drive Midnight Black costs 11,980 yen and launches the same day. Pre-orders for both open Oct 20 at Japanese retailers.

The console only works with a PlayStation account whose system language is Japanese and whose country or region is Japan. The post lists what is in the box: the console with its 825GB SSD, one DualSense, two feet for horizontal use, HDMI, power and USB cables, printed materials, and Astro's Playroom preinstalled. There is no copy or code for GTA VI.

The GTA VI link is the date. In its list of upcoming games, the post names Grand Theft Auto VI as due on Nov 19, the same day as the console. That is Sony putting new hardware next to the biggest launch of the year, not a GTA VI edition. Our news brief has the day-of report.

What Microsoft and Rockstar have announced

Microsoft: nothing hardware-related. Xbox Wire's GTA VI tag holds exactly two items as of Oct 14 2026. One is the Trailer 2 post from May 6 2025, still titled with the old May 26 2026 date. The other, from Aug 28 2026, is a pre-order link for Xbox Series X|S on Nov 19. No bundle, no controller, no console.

Rockstar: nothing hardware-related either. The GTA VI site lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and says the game "Plays Best On PlayStation 5." The GTA VI posts in Rockstar's Newswire listing, back to July 30 2026, cover the Extended Look, the album, the collector's box, the Rockstar Store collection and the radio stations. Everything tied to the launch, side by side

REPORT: retailer packs, not console-maker bundles

Not every "bundle" listing comes from Sony or Microsoft. German site Netzwelt reported on Jul 9 2026 that Amazon in Germany was selling the GTA VI Standard Edition code-in-a-box together with an Xbox Series S or Series X. Netzwelt said these appeared to be packs Amazon assembled itself, not official Microsoft bundles, that the cheapest Series S pack had already sold out, and that the Series X in one pack was a certified refurbished unit. If you see a pack like that, check whether the console is new and compare it with buying both separately. The physical game is a code in a box, with no disc (FACTS.md F20).

Did GTA V get console bundles?

Yes, on PlayStation, twice. That history is the best guide we have to how a GTA bundle shows up when one exists.

Two things stand out. The PS3 bundle was announced more than three months early, at E3, so GTA VI is well past that point without one. The PS4 bundle came four days before launch, as a Black Friday deal. So a late, holiday-timed bundle has happened before. Neither case tells us what Sony or Microsoft will do this time.

What to watch for

None of the following is announced. These are the places an announcement would appear, and what would count.

• The PlayStation Blog, US and Europe editions. Every GTA bundle Sony has made so far was announced there. A post naming a "Grand Theft Auto VI bundle" with contents and a price is the only thing that would confirm one. GamesRadar+ wrote on Oct 13 that it expects Sony to have "something fresh" for the western launch, whether a bundle or special console covers. That is an outlet's expectation, not a Sony plan.
• Xbox Wire. Microsoft has published nothing GTA VI-specific beyond trailers and pre-orders. A bundle or controller would show up on its GTA VI tag.
• Black Friday, Nov 27 2026. The 2014 PS4 bundle was a Black Friday product. Holiday console deals are worth watching, but a general discount on a console is not a GTA VI bundle. Our price and deals page tracks the game's own price.
• Retail listings. A store page that says "GTA 6 bundle" may be a retailer pairing, as in Germany in July. Look for the console maker's name on the box and a matching announcement.

Trivia

• The 2013 PS3 bundle came with a companion: a custom GTA V Pulse wireless headset that Sony said was "inspired by Grand Theft Auto's focus on the almighty dollar."

We used no leaks, and we left out "insider" bundle claims. We will update this page the day any console maker announces a GTA VI bundle.
