GTA 6 Trailer Breakdown: Every Official Video, Shot by Shot
Scene by scene through GTA 6 Trailer 1, Trailer 2 and An Extended Look: timestamps, characters, places, songs and Easter eggs, each one credited.
Last checked: Oct 12 2026.
Three videos, about 31 minutes of Leonida, and fans have freeze-framed every second. Trailer 1 gave us 90 seconds of Florida chaos and one name, Lucia. Trailer 2 gave us the love story. An Extended Look gave us real play. Here is each one in order: what happens, who is on screen, where we are, what is playing, and the jokes outlets spotted in the background.
One rule: every timestamp and Easter egg here comes from a named outlet. Where no outlet gave a clock time, we give the scene order instead. Dates, runtimes and view counts live on our GTA VI trailers page; this page is about what is inside the videos.

Trailer 1: Dec 4 2023
The reveal is a mood reel: a prison, a beach, a swamp, then a flood of phone videos that feel like a year of "Florida Man" headlines. The table follows PC Gamer's scene-by-scene breakdown, the only one we found with timestamps.
| Time | What you see | Who and where | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0:05 | Lucia in prison scrubs. Asked if she knows why she is there, she says "Bad luck, I guess." | Lucia; a prison | PC Gamer |
| 0:12 | A pan over a busy city beach. A plane trails an ad for "Nine 1 Nine." | Vice City | PC Gamer; VGC |
| 0:19 | An airboat tears through the wetlands | Wetlands outside the city | PC Gamer |
| 0:22 | Beach life: speedboats, a helicopter and an amphibious one, and a tiny dog that is not one of GTA V's breeds | The coast | PC Gamer |
| 0:23 | A speedboat race past container ships, then road signs for Kelly County, the VCI Airport, Catalan Boulevard, Stockyard and Downtown | Around Vice City | PC Gamer; GamesRadar |
| 0:34 | A DJ | A club | PC Gamer |
| 0:36 | A wide shot of the city's edge, then a rooftop party and a time-lapse of a "VICE" sign | Vice City | PC Gamer |
| 0:41 | The social-media montage starts: a party on a yacht, a man pulling an alligator out of a backyard pool, an impromptu street party with drifting muscle cars | Leonida, on phone screens | PC Gamer |
| 0:48 | CCTV of an alligator wandering into a cafe | PC Gamer | |
| 0:49 | Bodycam footage of police breaking down a door | PC Gamer | |
| 0:50 | More clips, beside a highway signed for Vice Beaches and Port VC/Keys | PC Gamer; GamesRadar | |
| 0:54 | A man watering his garden in almost nothing; mud-soaked fans of the Thrillbilly Mud Club; a woman with two hammers saying "Well, look who's back" | GamesRadar reads the caption as "Neighborhood watch don't play around in Hamlet" | PC Gamer; GamesRadar |
| 0:58 | A partygoer crashes through a table of drinks | PC Gamer | |
| 1:00 | Lucia in a car with her partner: "The only way we're gonna get through this is by sticking together." Weazel News chase footage, a pack of dirt bikes, and a tattooed inmate on Spanish-language news | Lucia and the unnamed man | PC Gamer; GamesRadar puts the inmate "just over the minute mark" |
| After 1:00 | Masks on, a shop robbery, a getaway, a motel room where both say "trust," and a final stick-up in a liquor store | PC Gamer; VGC names the store Uncle Jacks |
The end card read 2025. That date did not hold, as our delay timeline shows.
Easter eggs, as reported:
- The Cheetah is back. VGC: a Cheetah has been in every main game since GTA III, and this one goes back to the Testarossa look. More on the cars in GTA 6 vehicles and weapons.
- "The United States of Paranoia." That is what the cash in Lucia's hand says, per VGC.
- Angstipan. A pill ad that "cures emotions" (VGC). Keep that name in mind, it comes back.
- Piswasser Nein. An alcohol-free take on the series' classic beer, VGC guesses, along with Logger Light Dreich, a Scottish in-joke.
- The sign on the liquor store door. "We will no longer accept cash stored in underwear" (VGC, PC Gamer).
- Why "Leonida." VGC links the name to Juan Ponce de Leon, the Spanish explorer who led the first European expedition to Florida in 1513.
- Old Vice City. GamesRadar thinks it sees updated takes on Starfish Island and the original Ocean Beach.

Trailer 2: May 6 2025
Trailer 2 slows down and tells a story: in Rockstar's description, "an easy score" goes wrong and a conspiracy spreads "across the state of Leonida." Rockstar also says it is "equal parts gameplay and cutscenes." The table follows GameSpot's scene order. The one clock time we have is GamesRadar's: at 00:23, Jason walking into his house is the clearest handoff to gameplay it could find.
| Order | What you see | Who and where | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opening | An overhead shot of a small bayside town, boats in the water | The coast | GameSpot |
| 1 | Jason up on a roof, "just fixing some leaks" (PC Gamer). Brian Heder interrupts to ask for his "checks" (GameSpot) | Jason, Brian Heder | PC Gamer; GameSpot |
| 2 | Jason drives off. A store clerk gets shaken down. Road signs for Ambrosia, Downtown, the VCI Airport and Southside | Leonida's roads | GameSpot |
| 3 | Jason lifting weights on the beach; leaving a store with a six-pack | Jason | GameSpot; PC Gamer |
| 4 | Jason at Leonida Penitentiary, asking for Lucia Caminos. She walks out, and "Rockstar Games Presents" comes up | Jason, Lucia | GameSpot |
| 5 | Skull masks on, the pair rob the Sinfrontera National Bank | Jason, Lucia | GameSpot |
| 6 | The relationship: drinks, a pier, talk of "a new start" | Jason, Lucia | GameSpot |
| 7 | A bar where Cal orders a round of shots, then a yacht where Lucia shows off a gold dress | Cal | GameSpot |
| 8 | The law closes in: a jump from a window under a police helicopter, a police squad on the move, Lucia cage fighting, a safe dragged through the streets, police cars blown up | Jason, Lucia | GameSpot; PC Gamer (the cage fight) |
| 9 | An ad for Phil's Ammu-Nation | Phil | GameSpot; PC Gamer |
| 10 | The vehicle montage, including Jason riding into the back of a moving semi to steal a sports car | Jason | GameSpot |
| Closing | Jason and Lucia drive over a bridge at sunset; then the logo and the May 26 2026 date | Jason, Lucia | GameSpot |
GameSpot gives Cal a different surname; Rockstar's profile says Cal Hampton (see the named cast).
Easter eggs, as reported:
- "Just fixing some leaks." PC Gamer reads Jason's first line as Rockstar poking fun at the 2022 hack.
- Phil's Ammu-Nation. PC Gamer wonders if this is Phil Cassidy, the gun dealer from GTA III and Vice City, and lists reasons it may not be. Treat it as a question, not a fact.
- "Hurricane Roxy." The words behind the bar where Cal orders shots. GameSpot points out that a character is named Roxy; in Rockstar's profiles, Roxy is one half of the rap duo Real Dimez.
- Cats. Behind Brian, and by Jason outside the store (PC Gamer).
- The Manatees. A green football jersey reads "Manatees," which PC Gamer calls GTA's Miami Dolphins.
- A familiar console. A console and controllers that look like a PS5 and DualSense (GameSpot).
An Extended Look: Aug 27 2026
The big one: about 26 minutes, all in-game on PS5 by Rockstar's account, and our first long look at Jason and Lucia under player control. No outlet we could open gave clock times, so this is the scene order as GamesRadar's and PC Gamer's live coverage logged it.
| Part | What you see | Who and where | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Opening | Jason and Lucia walk into a building to collect a package for Boobie Ike. Jason pets a dog on the way. A tip-off says a task force is coming, police burst in, and a shootout follows, with Jason playable and Lucia covering him | Jason, Lucia; a drug lab | GamesRadar; PC Gamer; TechRadar |
| Early | Jason boosts a car with a short button prompt | Jason | GamesRadar |
| Early | Home life: Lucia picks a dress, Jason is no help, and the TV runs ads for Angstipan and a 30,000-calorie sandwich | Their Vice City apartment | GamesRadar; NME |
| Early | Out in the convertible, roof down, to Brian Heder's rooftop party. NME names a rooftop bar in this stretch Effluvia | Brian Heder | GamesRadar; NME |
| Middle | Brian has a job, tonight, and it needs only one of them | Brian Heder | GamesRadar; PC Gamer |
| Middle | Bandanas on for gas station robberies; then a getaway job, Jason shooting from the back seat while Lucia drives | Jason, Lucia, Raul | GamesRadar; PC Gamer |
| Middle | They torch the getaway car and switch to a van | Lucia | GamesRadar; PC Gamer |
| Middle | A montage around Bayside and beyond: boating through a swamp, the gym, basketball, jet skis, kayaking, a race track | Bayside (GamesRadar); NME also notes the Grassrivers wetlands | GamesRadar; NME |
| Late | Lucia base jumps off a tower, and a single button press flips the camera across the city to Jason | Jason, Lucia | GamesRadar; TechRadar |
| Final stretch | A bodyguard job for Andres de Leon of Megamundo at his company's party. Lucia's guns are confiscated, armed men attack, and control passes from Jason to Lucia | Andres de Leon | PC Gamer; GamesRadar; TechRadar |
| Close | A montage of Leonida by day and night under a voiceover about "glory days," and a reminder to pre-order | NME; GamesRadar |
Songs. Rockstar credits none. NME listed 12 tracks, including Birdman and Lil Wayne, Def Leppard, Depeche Mode, Cliff Richard and Phil Collins, and GamesRadar places "Against All Odds" in an elevator. Rockstar's launch credits will be the final word. For the dial itself, see GTA VI radio stations.
Easter eggs, as reported:
- Righteous Slaughter: Hood Ops. A T-shirt in the opening scene, a nod to the in-game shooter series from GTA V. GamesRadar says the shirt "briefly appeared in the first trailer" too.
- A Fleeca Bank sticker on Jason's fridge (GamesRadar).
- The Prairie sandwich box, "only 30,000 calories," which GamesRadar reads as an Arby's parody.
- The Sentinel. The convertible is an old Sentinel, a car from the 2002 Vice City, per GamesRadar.
- Two Phil Collins nods, per GamesRadar's live team. Collins played himself in Vice City Stories.
What keeps coming back
Our favorite part of lining up all three: Rockstar plants things in one video and pays them off in another.
| Thing | First seen | Seen again | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Angstipan pill ad | Trailer 1 | An Extended Look, on Jason and Lucia's TV | VGC; GamesRadar |
| Righteous Slaughter T-shirt | Trailer 1 | Opening of An Extended Look | GamesRadar |
| Store robberies as a couple | Trailer 1, the final stick-up | Extended Look gas station robberies | PC Gamer; GamesRadar |
| Boating through the swamp | Trailer 1, an airboat at 0:19 | Extended Look montage | PC Gamer; GamesRadar |
| Working out | Trailer 2, Jason on the beach | Extended Look, Lucia at the gym | GameSpot; NME |
| Brian Heder | Trailer 2 opening | Extended Look rooftop party | GameSpot; GamesRadar |
| Vice City callbacks | Cheetah, Ocean Beach | Sentinel, Phil Collins | VGC; GamesRadar |
The pattern: Trailer 1 sells the world, Trailer 2 sells the couple, and the Extended Look sells the play. For what Rockstar itself says about the pair, see Lucia and Jason.
Where the sources disagree
- Trailer 1's length. YouTube says 90 seconds. GamesRadar called it "91-second," and PC Gamer "one minute and thirty-one seconds." Call it 1:30 to 1:31.
- Trailer 2 and the Extended Look. YouTube says 2:47 and 26:48; GameSpot called the first "three-minute," and outlets round the second to 26 minutes.
Sources and method
Song credits and capture notes are from Rockstar's YouTube descriptions, read Oct 12 2026. Everything else is from the outlet named on each line, never from leaked footage. GameSpot blocked our fetch, so we read its gallery via the Internet Archive. IGN, Polygon and Eurogamer were not reachable to us, so they are not used.
