GTA VI Radio Stations and Hosts, From Rockstar

The six GTA VI radio stations and hosts as Rockstar names them, what its two music pages say, what is still unannounced, and who outlets say the hosts are.

Last checked: Oct 11 2026.

Rockstar has named six GTA VI radio stations. It has also said, in the same post, that the full dial covers "everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio." Neither of those formats is among the six. So the first thing Rockstar's own words tell you is that the dial is bigger than what has been shown, and that at least one classic rock station and one talk station are still to come. Rockstar has not said how many stations there are in total.

This page lists the six stations exactly as Rockstar describes them on its two music pages, what is new about how radio works in GTA VI, what is still unannounced, and, in a separate labeled table, who outlets say the hosts really are. It does not repeat the history of the dial: for station counts in every earlier game, see our series radio page. The soundtrack album, a separate release, has its own page.

What is counted, and how

We use two Rockstar pages: the Oct 8 2026 Newswire post and the music page on Rockstar's GTA VI site. They describe the same six stations in slightly different words, and the table below gives both. Hosts are listed by the persona names Rockstar uses. We reproduce no lyrics and no tracklists.

Real-world identities of the hosts come from outlets, not from either Rockstar page. They appear only in the labeled outlet table near the end (FACTS R12).

Earlier station counts come from our series page, where each is sourced. Only GTA V's 17 was re-opened for this page.

The six stations, in Rockstar's two descriptions

This is the original table of this page: the Newswire wording, the site wording, and what each adds.

StationHostsNewswire, Oct 8 2026Music page, rockstargames.com/VIPlaces and people named
Cocoteo FMEl Martillo and La GataModern Latin music, from bachata and merengue to dembow and reggaeton; "el party que nunca se apaga"Modern Latin; "El party que nunca se apaga"Leonida
Back Country RadioMW and Delta DawneRenegade country"Airboat-ready renegade country"The Grassrivers and Port Gellhorn; reporter Mud Dog Mike, who calls in from his Grassrivers airboat
AfroBank FMBurna and PalmsyAfrican music, from 20th-century classics to amapiano and 3-step"Amapiano, African classics, 3-step, and more"None
The Chamber 106.6DJ Kerry and DJ Tom"decades of timeless metal anthems""Crushing metal has landed in Leonida"Leonida's "deep metal roots"
Flash FMRobyn and AlexPop; "The Vice City institution"Pop and "guaranteed grooves"Vice City; the Goodtime State
Dirty South ClassicsTrick and TrinaRegional rap and hip-hop classicsSameLeonida and the South

Three readings from that table:

  • The radio is tied to the map. Five of the six descriptions place the station somewhere: Vice City, the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Leonida, the South. Only AfroBank FM's does not. Back Country Radio even has a reporter in the swamps. Our Leonida page covers those regions.
  • Flash FM is a returning name. Rockstar calls it "The Vice City institution". Rockstar's 2013 playlist post lists Flash FM, with its "chart-toppers", on the dial of the 2002 Vice City, and its "pop smashes" again in Vice City Stories. The station is pop in all three games.
  • Only one station has a character who is not a host. Mud Dog Mike, Back Country's "roving reporter, swamp meteorologist", is also described as Delta Dawne's "not-so-secret lover".

The on-foot change matters more than it sounds. Rockstar calls the headphones and earbuds "newly introduced", and says radio and podcasts can be heard in vehicles and on foot. The radio travels with Jason and Lucia, so it is no longer only the soundtrack to driving. Add on-demand podcasts, and part of the dial becomes something you choose when to hear, rather than something you tune into.

Is six a small number?

Only as a first reveal. Our series radio page has the sourced count for every game from GTA III to GTA V, and none of those counts is below eight. GTA V had 17, the figure Rockstar gave in its Sep 12 2014 release. Six is below all of them, which tells you this is a preview of the dial, not the dial.

Rockstar's "biggest and widest-ranging selection" claim sets a bar. If "biggest" means the number of stations, GTA VI would have to beat GTA V's 17, and arguably the 19 music stations that GTA IV and its two episodes shared. Rockstar did not say whether "biggest" means stations, songs or hours, so we do not turn it into a number. The Classic Rock and Talk Radio formats it promised are the only firm clue to what is still to be named.

What Rockstar has not announced

  • The total number of stations.
  • Which station plays classic rock, and which is talk radio. Both formats are promised and neither is named.
  • Any podcast name, host or topic.
  • Tracklists for any station.
  • Whether a custom station for your own music exists, as Self Radio did on GTA V for PC.
  • Details of the dynamic score.

OUTLET IDENTIFICATION: who the hosts are said to be

Neither Rockstar page we read names a real person behind any host. Both pages use only the persona names above. Complex wrote that Rockstar "announced both the real-world artists and their in-game DJ personas"; we could not find that on the Newswire post or the GTA VI music page. Treat everything in this table as the outlets' claim.

StationPersona (Rockstar)Real artist, per Complex and KeenGamer (Oct 8 2026)
Cocoteo FMEl Martillo and La GataBad Bunny and RaiNao
Back Country RadioMW and Delta DawneMorgan Wallen and Lana Del Rey
Back Country RadioMud Dog Mike (reporter)Jeremy Dufrene (Complex only)
AfroBank FMBurna and PalmsyBurna Boy and Palms Trax
The Chamber 106.6DJ Kerry and DJ TomKerry King and Tom Araya of Slayer
Flash FMRobyn and AlexRobyn and Alex Consani
Dirty South ClassicsTrick and TrinaTrick Daddy and Trina

Our fact base rates the Back Country pairing as the weakest of these (FACTS R12). Rockstar's in-game credits at launch will settle all of them. Until then, our named-characters page counts the hosts by their persona names only.

Trivia

  • Rockstar's music page phrases the claim slightly differently from the Newswire post: the "biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio and podcasts yet."
  • The Chamber's frequency, 106.6, is the only number in any of the six station names.
  • Rockstar put a preview player for each of the six stations on its GTA VI music page.
