GTA on Game Pass and PS Plus: Every Stint
Every time GTA V and the Definitive Edition remasters joined or left Xbox Game Pass, PS Plus and PS Now, dated from Xbox Wire and the PlayStation Blog.
GTA V has joined a console subscription eight times since 2019, and the Definitive Edition remasters six more. Each stint was announced on Xbox Wire or the PlayStation Blog, and most ended within six months. This page dates every one of them, adds up the days, and records where things stood when we checked the stores live on Oct 11 2026.
The pattern is the point. For four years, GTA stints ran about two to six months. Then, in the run-up to GTA VI, they got longer: GTA V stayed on Game Pass for a full year from April 2025, and its current PlayStation Plus stint, which began Nov 18 2025, is the longest GTA stint on any PlayStation service, at 327 days on the day we checked.

What is counted, and how
Services. Xbox Game Pass (console, cloud and, from 2025, PC Game Pass), PlayStation Plus's Game Catalog (Extra and Premium tiers, from June 2022), and PlayStation Now, which Sony merged into the new PlayStation Plus in June 2022 (PlayStation Blog, Mar 29 2022). Discounts for subscribers, GTA Online bonuses and free weekends are not stints and are left out. Netflix's mobile Trilogy has its own page, /library/gta-on-netflix.
Join dates come from Xbox Wire and PlayStation Blog posts, each read in full. Leave dates come from the same sources where they gave one. Xbox Wire does announce departures; the PlayStation Blog does not, so the five PS Plus leave dates are from press reports of Sony's "Last Chance to Play" list, named in each row. Microsoft Store data dates GTA V's 2026 exit one day later, Apr 16; we use Xbox Wire's Apr 15.
Length is the number of days from the join date to the leave date, computed by script. Example: Jan 3 2020 to May 7 2020 is 28 days of January after the 3rd, plus 29 (February, a leap year), 31 and 30, plus 7 days of May: 28 + 29 + 31 + 30 + 7 = 125.

What the record shows
GTA V has rarely been on both services at once. The PS Now stint ended on Jan 2 2020 and the first Game Pass stint began the next day, Jan 3. Since then the two have overlapped three times: 17 days around the turn of 2024, 35 days in spring 2025, and 148 days from Nov 18 2025 to Apr 15 2026. Today it is on PlayStation Plus only.
Most stints were about six months or less. Twelve of the 13 finished stints ran between 55 and 189 days. The exception is the 365-day Game Pass run from April 2025, which was also the first to include PC, through GTAV Enhanced on PC Game Pass. The open PS Plus stint passed every earlier PlayStation stint in length on May 27 2026, its 190th day.
The remasters came one game at a time. Xbox took San Andreas at the Trilogy's launch. Sony took GTA III and Vice City for PS Now, then Vice City, San Andreas and GTA III for PS Plus in turn, never two at once. We found no Xbox Wire or PlayStation Blog post adding the full Trilogy bundle to either service.
Every Xbox exit was announced, with little warning. Xbox Wire gave 14 days' notice in 2020 (Apr 23 for May 7), 5 days in 2021 (Aug 3 for Aug 8), 2 days in 2024 (Jan 3 for Jan 5) and 8 days in 2026 (Apr 7 for Apr 15).

GTA+ is Rockstar's own paid membership, not a platform subscription. Rockstar's Jun 17 2026 Newswire post said GTA+ members "can also now access" GTA V's Story Mode through the GTA+ Games Library. The same post announced that from Jun 18 2026 owners of any PS4 copy, or a digital Xbox One copy, of GTA V could upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version at no extra cost. No Game Pass or PlayStation Plus inclusion for GTA VI has been announced; our fact base lists it as unconfirmed. The game launches Nov 19 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (FACTS F1, F3). See /library/gta-vi.
Trivia
- The first GTA subscription stint was on PlayStation, not Xbox: PS Now carried GTA V from Oct 1 2019, three months before Game Pass.
- Xbox Wire called GTA V's July 2023 arrival "a surprise return", announced and available the same day.
- The PlayStation Blog's Oct 1 2019 post said GTA Online at first worked only in the downloaded version of GTA V, not the streamed one, and later updated that note.
- GTA V's 2025 Game Pass return was the first to include PC Game Pass, with the then-new GTAV Enhanced.
