Two editions, one add-on, and some arithmetic that makes the choice easier than it looks. These are US list prices on the Xbox Store and Rockstar Store, checked October 11 2026:
- Standard Edition: $79.99
- Ultimate Edition: $99.99
- Ultimate Edition Upgrade: $20.00, which Standard owners can buy at any time
$79.99 plus $20.00 is $99.99. At today's prices, buying Standard and upgrading later costs exactly the same as buying Ultimate up front. So nobody has to decide on Ultimate before playing.
What Ultimate adds, per Rockstar's list:
- Vehicles: the '95 Grotti Cheetah, the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and its garage, a Ganado Retro Build, the Shitzu Squalo boat, and Jason's safehouse vehicles
- Weapons and style: the Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers, personalized weapon variants, Vice City Styles and Goodtime Gear
- Places and missions: the PTT Youngin$ Compound, the Classic Car Collection, and five businesses the PlayStation Store copy says are "only open for business" with Ultimate (Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang and One-Eyed Willie's)
- Bonuses Rockstar says are "uncovered behind each chapter," not yet described
Two catches:
- There is no physical Ultimate Edition. Boxed buyers redeem their code, then buy the Upgrade digitally.
- Digital pre-orders get a month of GTA+. Physical pre-orders do not.
The $399.99 Goodtime State Vice City Collection is merchandise, not an edition. The game is sold separately.

So: Standard, Ultimate, or Standard now and decide later? And digital or box?
