CONFIRMED
GTA VI is $79.99 in the US, Ultimate is $99.99, and the $20 Upgrade makes them cost the same
Two editions and one add-on. Ultimate adds vehicles, weapons, outfits and five businesses that open only for Ultimate owners.
Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders opened at midnight local time on June 25 2026. Rockstar sells two editions, Standard and Ultimate, plus an Ultimate Edition Upgrade that Standard owners can buy at any time.
US list prices, as shown on the Xbox Store and Rockstar Store when we checked on Oct 11 2026:
- Standard Edition: $79.99
- Ultimate Edition: $99.99
- Ultimate Edition Upgrade: $20.00
The arithmetic is the story. $79.99 plus $20.00 is $99.99, so at today's prices, starting with Standard and upgrading later costs exactly what Ultimate costs up front.
What Ultimate adds, per Rockstar's list: the '95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers, personalized variants of Jason's Girardi ES9 and Lucia's Klose K17 pistols, Vice City Styles and Goodtime Gear, Jason's safehouse vehicles, a Ganado Retro Build, the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and garage, and a Shitzu Squalo boat. It also adds destinations and missions: the PTT Youngin$ Compound and a Classic Car Collection commissioned by a fixer named Wyman.
The most consequential line is five businesses. PlayStation Store copy says Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor and One-Eyed Willie's are "only open for business" with Ultimate. Rockstar also promises bonuses "uncovered behind each chapter."
Every pre-order or purchase before Nov 20 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital pre-orders also get one month of GTA+; physical ones do not.
Why it matters. Because the Upgrade is sold at any time, nobody has to decide on Ultimate before playing.
What is still unknown. We verified US prices only. Rockstar has not said what the chapter bonuses are, or whether the Upgrade price will change. No third edition, physical Ultimate Edition or launch discount has been announced.
